SPICE ISLAND SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL ENDEAVORS OF 13 STUDENTS WITH SCHOLARSHIPS
Continuing his commitment to support the educational journey of Grenada's youth, Sir Royston presented scholarships to 13 students as part of the Sir Royston Hopkin Scholarship Programme. The recipients were presented with awards in the form of vouchers redeemable for school supplies and tablets.
Congratulations to the following 13 students who were presented with scholarships from the program: Princess Alexander, Aliandra Antoine, Donnisha Baptste, Aliyah Bishop, Keavon Bubb, Christon Cadore, Chrystel Daniel, Benjamin Ettienne, Roneka Regis, Renaldo Simon, Shekiron Smith, Mekelle Thompson and Jahmil Williams.
Taking place in the St. Andrew's Suite at Spice Island Beach Resort, the students and their families were welcomed by key speakers, Simon Stiell who offered advice on how to be successful in their future educational endeavors. Sir Royston also provided an inspirational speech to the students.
Sir Royston continues to support the nation's youth and urges students to continue to strive for excellence. Since the launch of the program in 1992, 165 students and their parents have benefited from the scholarships.
The Scholarship Programme supports students throughout their secondary and tertiary level education, a period of seven years, providing vouchers redeemable for workbooks, uniforms and stationary supplies. Educational guidance, school-based assignment assistance and career advice is also provided by the program's management team who closely monitors each student's performance through report cards submitted at the end of the school year.
