RISING STARS IN THE KITCHEN AT GRENADA'S SPICE ISLAND BEACH RESORT
For Jesson Church and Brenda Joseph, 2011 has started on a bright note. Both were recently promoted to more senior positions in the Kitchen department. Mr. Church was elevated from the position of Sous Chef to Head Chef, while Mrs. Joseph (formerly Junior Sous Chef) ascended to Sous Chef.

From the moment Mr. Church joined the resort 10 years ago, he demonstrated a passion for the culinary arts, absorbing new techniques from all the Executive Chefs with whom he has worked. This, along with his overseas training in the United Kingdom, resulted in his quick rise through the ranks. His exceptional culinary skills have elevated the resort's gastronomical offerings over the past five years, and his artistic passion and creativity is evident on every plate which leaves his kitchen. His penchant for experimentation has been a popular topic for discussion among satisfied dinner guests at Oliver's Restaurant.

Mrs. Joseph has been a pillar of strength in the Kitchen department for more than 20 years. A fine example of the value of hard work and personal development, the Sous Chef began as a Kitchen Cleaner, and was quickly promoted to Cook. She continued her ascent until she was named Junior Sous Chef in 2005.

Both Mr. Church and Mrs. Joseph have been the recipient of several hotel awards. Sir Royston expressed no doubt the pair would receive more accolades in the future.
